#137 – Triangle Ripple Shawl Edging

A few months ago, I made my Triangle Ripple Shawl, and while I loved it, I also knew that I wanted to revisit it and finish the edging as the pattern intended. Now that it’s summer, I finally had enough time to get back to it.

  • 4.5 mm hook

At first, I was planning to do multiple repeats of this border pattern, once in the dark mauve, then medium, and finally light mauve. After all, I had gotten this set of mini-skeins as a set from Autumn and Indigo, and it felt like a perfect use for it. However, when I lined it up to look at the colour changes, I felt like it made the shawl too busy. By keeping it to one colour change, I felt that the contrast was more striking.

This is honestly one of my favourite things that I’ve made. It will be perfect for layering as a scarf in the spring or fall, or I can even tie it around my waist as an accent piece for a simple dress! I’m not sure if that’s a “fashionable” or “acceptable” way to wear it, but I figure I might as well live my life without worrying too much about that.

Until next time, happy crafting!
