This shawl is GIANT. As in, twice-my-arm-span-giant. If it hadn’t been a test knit, I definitely would have gotten rid of half of the repeats for a much more manageable size. However, despite the seemingly endless rows of garter stitch, the end result is so striking that I thought this project was absolutely worth it.

#271 – Trestle Shawl
I alluded to this pattern test a few weeks ago when I talked about the Garter Tab Cast-On, and I’m excited to finally be able to show you how this shawl looks! The shawl is a great size for wrapping up in, and the pattern is so satisfying to work up.

I had always intended to give this shawl as a gift, but I was so so close to keeping this for myself when I saw how it turned out. The gradual fade of the accent colours with the beige neutral looked amazing, and the brioche made for the softest, squishiest shawl I had ever made.

This has been my big project of this Japan trip, mostly because of the yardage — it’s almost one kilometre of yarn! I’ve never used single ball of yarn that big before, but I’m absolutely in love with this colour fade, and this pattern is so scrumptious.
#137 – Triangle Ripple Shawl Edging
A few months ago, I made my Triangle Ripple Shawl, and while I loved it, I also knew that I wanted to revisit it and finish the edging as the pattern intended. Now that it’s summer, I finally had enough time to get back to it.
#124 – Triangle Ripple Shawl
A few months ago, I fell in love with yarn from Autumn and Indigo, and I knew I wanted to make a shawl with it! Before crochet, I honestly never looked twice at shawls. To be completely honest, I thought they were a bit random, but now that I crochet, I love them. They’re so practical for that in-between weather, and they’re great from a fashion perspective too.
#112 – Striped Crescent Shawl
I’ve been storing these mini skeins from Allison Barnes Yarn for months now, and I decided that I needed to try making something with them instead of just appreciating them for their beauty! When I started looking at different patterns on Ravelry, this one jumped out at me.
#103 – Triangle Eyelet Shawl
A couple of months ago, I volunteered at the Etsy Edmonton market, and I absolutely fell in love with this colourway from Allison Barnes Yarn. I ended up spending most of my volunteer dollars on this skein, but it was definitely worth it. Since then, I’ve been waiting for the perfect project.
#77 – Triangle Lace Shawl
If summer is for crop tops and winter is for scarves, what should spring’s go-to piece of crochet be? I’m thinking it might be shawls! I’ve never worn (or made) a shawl before, but this pattern was so pretty that I knew I had to give it a try.
#44 – Chevron Scarf
In Edmonton, it’s always safe to assume that it’ll snow before Halloween – I just didn’t expect snow over Thanksgiving long weekend! However, it was lucky that I had already whipped up this beautiful chevron scarf to keep me warm in the cold weather. I think it’ll become my go-to accessory for the winter, and I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!
