#136 – Sew Softies

This summer, I’ve been doing a lot of babysitting, and something that I love is being able to do crafts with these little ones as they get older and have better fine motor control! One of the parents has been doing a great job of providing craft kits and other fun games, and I think these sewing kits are my new favourite.

Pattern by Orb Factory

I absolutely love how straightforward and complete these kits are. From the needle to the thread, eyes, and felt, everything you needed to make three different creatures was ready for you! Out of all the little ones I got to watch this summer, it was actually a five year-old boy who wanted to make a stuffie, and that made me so happy to see how crafting can be for anyone. Apart from the last few stitches needed to close up the octopus, he did the whole thing by himself! We have decided that the octopus should be called Jeffrey.

I would honestly recommend these kits to anyone with little ones, from aged 5 and up. They’re easy enough for the little ones, with a satisfying enough end product that children would actually be motivated to make them. I hope that if I have children of my own someday, that they’ll enjoy making things as much as I do.

Until next time, happy crafting!
