#242 – Sew Mini Animals

If you recall a few summers ago, I mentioned the Sew Softies kit and how my babysitting child loved to complete them! Well, he’s now seven years old (almost eight), and he’s moved on to these more intricate mini animals!

It has been so cool to see my babysitting kids learn and grow over the years, especially as they develop their new skills. This kit matches where he’s at now, and challenges him to do more detailed sewing. He ended up making (mostly by himself!) a bat and a penguin.

Aren’t these animals so cute? I love the little fangs on the bat and the wink from the penguin. It’s so awesome that even though he loves to run and move, he also loves crafting, which just goes to remind you that kids contain multitudes! There’s no reason to lump them into categories and assume that they wouldn’t like something, because they’ll never know until they try!

I can’t recommend KLUTZ kits enough, especially if you are looking for something to do with kids. They have great instructions, engaging finished projects, and they cover almost every craft you can think of, and then some. Even if you think of yourself as uncreative, I promise you’ll find something that interests you.

Until next time, happy crafting!
