I know that I posted a little while ago about the Twilight Sparkle I made for a babysitting child, but I wanted to talk a little bit more about the eyes! They were made with felt, and even though they were super basic and glued on, I know that there are so many more directions that felt eyes can go.
- Black felt fabric (5cm x 5cm square)
- White embroidery floss

Despite my love for safety eyes, I know that they’re not always the best choice, especially for toys that will be gifted to babies or other little ones. Felt eyes can be seen as a safer choice in these instances, especially if they’re safely secured!
Basically, these eyes were just ovals cut out and then super-glued onto the amigurumi, but I followed the kit guide and added the white stitching to act as the pupils and sparkle in the eyes. I’ve also previously used felt on the Halloween Tsum Tsum!
The next level that I would want to explore is needle felting! I’ve long been curious about needle felting since I saw the beautiful eyes that Evelyn (@evwin7565 on Instagram) makes for her creations. They’re so perfect for her Pokémon creations, and I would love to be able to get to that level.
Until next time, happy crafting!
