My brother gave me this set a few years ago for Christmas, and I really like it! I don’t write with it as often as I might, mostly because I still find the concept of fountain pens to be very “fancy”, but here we are.

There is something to be said for writing with a nice pen. I’ve always wondered how people could justify spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a Montblanc pen, but if you have the money, I could see how you might want a fancy pen to sign important documents with. The Kaweco pens are nowhere on that level, but they are also a German company like their fancier cousins!

At first I was worried about not being able to find replacement cartridges for this pen, but I haven’t really used it enough yet for that to be a concern. I also found out that a variety of companies make cartridges that are compatible with Kaweco pens, including vivapen.

I’m trying to convince myself that fancier things can be used and enjoyed in every day life, but it’s a hard thing to get used to. I just want to keep them pristine , but I know that their real value would be in using them, as intended. Hopefully I can start to use this pen more in my every day life!
