#158 – Planner

Despite testing out a lot of different planners over the years, I’ve found that I’m happiest when I get to customize my own. I’m excited for 2019, because it means I get to do a test run on this newest layout!

Process by tick-tock hobbies

There are a few things I know I want in a planner. First of all, I want a Sunday week start, so that the weekly layout and the calendar layout are corresponding. I think that North America is actually one of the few places that use calendars with Sunday starts, so I’m probably in the minority for this, considering that Europe and Asia both prefer Monday starts. I’m toying around with trying to switch to Mondays, but for 2019 at least, I’ll be sticking to what I know.

Secondly, I know I need flexibility in my planning. I don’t know about you, but my plans seem to change all the time. I hate it when I have something written down in pen, only for it to change and for me to have to grab the Wite-out. This is where the Frixion pens have been amazing! They erase so cleanly that I can adjust my schedule without having the hassle of unseemly Wite-Out marks.

Third, I loveee colour coding. Each pen colour corresponds to a different category of activity, so I can just glance at a day and know what to expect, without even reading carefully about where I need to be.

Lastly, washi tape, stickers, and other decorations are always a plus in my planners. They help to make everything more fun, and I love to add in Polaroid pictures or ticket stubs to my planner throughout the year to get a more authentic feel of how everything was going!

Are there any things that you love in your planners? What will you be using in 2019 to stay organized? In the meantime, have a great holiday season! If you celebrate them, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Until next time, happy crafting!
