Despite testing out a lot of different planners over the years, I’ve found that I’m happiest when I get to customize my own. I’m excited for 2019, because it means I get to do a test run on this newest layout!

#156 – Custom Notebook
A few weeks about, I wrote about the custom coloured ink I got to make in Tokyo, and now I’m going to write about the custom notebook I got to make at the sister shop!
Before I left for Japan, my friends showed me this store in Tokyo that allows clients to customize their ink as well as notebooks! Being the huge dork that I am, I immediately put it on my list of places that I wanted to go, and Ayla was kind enough to support me.

When I was younger, I used to fill a journal every year, but somewhere in junior high or high school, I stopped doing it. It’s really such a shame, because I love looking back at my old entries. This entry isn’t really a “craft” in the strictest sense, but it’s something that definitely drives my creative process and personal growth.
#113 – Origami Cranes
I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the story of Sadako and the thousand paper cranes, but I heard it as a child, and it really made an impression on me. For one, it stuck out to me as a plea for peace in an imperfect world, but for another, it spoke to me about hope.
#110 – Framed Maps
fernweh — (n.) a homesickness for a place you’ve never been; a longing to travel, an ache for distance. // heimweh — (n.) a desire for going home, the longing for return
These two German words may be opposites, but I feel like I inhabit both of them equally. When I’m home, I’m dreaming of far off locales, but when I’m travelling, a part of me longs for home. In order to tackle this fernweh/heimweh cycle, I decided that I wanted to ground myself and mark where home was. I was cleaning out my car when I found some old maps, and I decided this would be a perfect project!
#86 – Photo Book
First off, I just want to say that this post is in no way sponsored or affiliated – I just wanted to share about my experience making a photobook with Shutterfly!
#70 – Star Jars
I was feeling quite nostalgic this week, so I thought I’d throw it back to something I used to do a lot in elementary school! My friends and I used to fold origami stars a lot, and when we got a little older, we realized that if we filled glass jars with them, they made for excellent gifts and decor!

#22 – 3D Origami Monkey
If you guys remember the 3D Origami Pig I showed here a few months ago, then you’ll see the clear similarities to this monkey here! This one was also from a kit by the same company, and it was just as easy to use as the pig!
#17 – Handmade Cards
As much as I love crochet, sometimes life just calls you to try other crafts! Lately I’ve been trying my hand at making cards, and it’s been a lot of fun. I’m definitely far from making Hallmark-level cards, but I like the freedom to design a card the way I want. Plus it’s nice to be able to have a little handmade card to accompany a handmade gift!
