#377 – Puff Stitch Scarf

I’m sorry, but I haven’t been crafting as much lately, so this week is back to the archives to find another hidden gem. Most of the time I’m still in awe that this blog has been running more or less regularly since December 2015, so if some of my posts are scraping the bottom of the barrel, I hope you can forgive me. This post is about a super cute puff stitch scarf that ended up being a gift to a friend, so I have no idea what happened to it.

I remember that this was actually the first time that I gifted something knit or crochet to someone outside of my family, and it felt so special packaging up the scarf with little red ribbon and everything. In hindsight, I have no idea if it was well received or not since I wasn’t particularly close with this person, but hey, I was caught up in the joy of a new hobby and I wanted everyone to know how much fun I was having with some yarn and a few hooks.

The puff stitch had been a new technique for me back then, and although I have rarely used it since, I remember really liking the floofy texture it gave the scarf. It would have been so fun to treat the scarf like bubble wrap and squeeze the different puffs! I could see it being really handy to have puffs as decoration for a blanket border or something similar too, just to give it a bit of texture. Where would you want to put the puff stitch?

Until next time, happy crafting!
