#220 – Homemade Stickers

It was pointed out to me the other day, that as long as I have a colour printer, I can theoretically make my own stickers. All I need to do is to buy a full-sheet label sticker, and then I can print my stickers and cut them out as desired!

  • 8 1/2″ x 11″ label sticker sheets
  • Free printable templates
  • 1 colour printer

The biggest downside to this strategy is the fact that each sticker has to be cut out individually. Because of that, the scallops were kinddd of a pain and I almost wish I had picked an easier sticker template to start with. Still, I love having these decorative checklists to keep me motivated at work and in my everyday life.

I used MACO branded label sheets, and I haven’t noticed any problems with the actual printing. It can be a bit difficult to peel the stickers, depending on where the sticker was printed on the page, as I think there is only one pre-cut line in the backing.

I will say that the ink is not completely colourfast, as it does fade a little bit if rubbed a lot, so I don’t plan to put any of my printed stickers on any high-touch surfaces. I’m not sure if this is because of my printer (I have a laser printer right now) or if it’s because of the label paper, but here we are. One way to get around this is to print stickers that have a watercolour aesthetic, as then the fading is not as noticeable.

Apart from Maddie’s site (Lovely Planner), I also found beautiful free printables from Magdalena at Design Lovely Studio, and of course a quick Google or Pinterest search will also turn up hundreds of beautiful and free sticker designs. If you fall in love with anything, please feel free to share it with me! I’d love to see it and possibly use it for myself as well.

Until next time, happy crafting!
