#145 – Duck

When I was young, my mom would take my brothers and me to William Hawrelak Park a lot. I have so many fond memories of riding the paddle boats, and I remember always being fascinated by the ducks that lived by the pond.

I actually ended up accidentally positioning the body backwards, but I think it works anyways. I know that these colours aren’t exactly “realistic”, but I thought the blue wings added a touch of whimsy! I guess a more realistic duck would have had a green head, but that didn’t even cross my mind.

One of my strongest memories of paddle boating is when my oldest brother reached out of his paddle boat and was able to actually grab and pick up a duck! I think our whole family was shocked that he had managed to do that quick enough to beat the duck’s reflexes. Do you have any funny childhood stories?

Until next time, happy crafting!
