I have been eyeing the Patagonia Synchilla sweater for a long time, mostly because I love the idea of a quarter-opening pullover. I haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet, but when I saw Joan call for testers on this gorgeous cable-knit quarter-zip sweater instead, I felt like this was the much better alternative for what I had been looking for. This way I could customize the colour however I wanted, while still keeping the benefits of the quarter-opening!

#366 – Turtleneck Sweater
Okay, I know I say this a lot, but this was one of my favourite test knit projects that I have ever done. The design is timeless, and the joy I had in making this project was unbelievable. This particular sweater is destined for a friend, but I have half a mind to cast on a second one, because that’s how much I enjoyed it.
Continue reading#329 – Wrong Side Sweater
This is my third toddler sized sweater project, and I’ve loved every single one of them. I’ve said it before, but I really do think everything is cuter in smaller sizes. As another selling feature, this test knit happened to be for a raglan, which was perfect since I prefer raglans to yoke sweaters!

I’ve been crushing on Brenda’s Instagram throughout the COVID-19 pandemic mostly because of the sheer joy that shines through her pictures. From her infectious smile to her dance moves in her Reels, you can’t help but be drawn to Brenda. This means that I obviously jumped at the opportunity to test knit for her.

A few of my friends have recently become parents, and I’ve been so excited watching them celebrate the new additions to their families! Their babies are all so adorable, and seeing the joy in my friends’ eyes is so special. I wanted to mark these special occasions by making heartfelt gifts, in this case, a sweater!

It’s almost uncanny how the weather knows to shift as soon as the calendar turns over, but here we are, one week into September with the perfect sweater weather. I’m so happy that I was able to test knit this sweater over the summer, because now my wardrobe is ready for the temperature drop, even if my mind isn’t.

I’ve been dropping hints about this project for weeks, and I’m over the moon to finally have a finished object to show off. From the colour contrast to the simple design to the boxy fit, everything about this sweater brings me so much joy.

I’m continuing my dive into knit sweaters by starting off with a toddler-sized sweater for my cousin’s newborn son! I’m pretty sure that he would count as my cousin once removed, but I’ve always found those terms confusing. Why can’t we just call each other cousins?
A handknit sweater is one of my maker goals for 2021, but I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process. I decided that making a miniature sweater might help me feel more comfortable with the design and assembly of a sweater without having to commit to the full-size version.
Continue reading#151 – Chunky Knit Sweater
I’ve had this yarn from We Are Knitters bookmarked for a comfy, chunky sweater for a while, but I knew it would challenge my very limited knitting abilities. I’m so proud of how much I learned during this project.
