Now that I’m not currently living there, I sometimes experience these waves of nostalgia for Edmonton, so I’ve been thinking for a while about how I would like to pay tribute to the city in craft form. To be honest, I’ve had a crush on this kit since it debuted in June 2017 and I’m ecstatic to finally cross it off my list.
Pattern by Made Social
Sadly, Made Social actually chose to close their business in November 2021, but I was able to snag the very last kit in their closing sale. Since then, it has been sitting in my room, and I have been too intimidated by the concept of cross stitch to try it until now.
I’m not sure why I was so scared of starting, because this ended up being very enjoyable! As always, Made Social had great instructions, but also cross stitching is so much easier than I thought. I did tweak the design accidentally, but that was because I did a poor job of counting squares and centering the skyline design. I think it still looks nice though!
The end goal now is to make a mini skyline of all the places I’ve lived, so I’ll need to get my creative juices going. It would be so cute to have a sequence of them! I’m also hoping to do more cross stitch in my future now that I’m not scared of it. Do you have any patterns or projects to recommend?
Until next time, happy crafting!
