#185 – C2C Scarf

I’m not sure if you remember my huge push to crochet items for donation last winter, but this scarf was one of them! Because of the beautiful colourways of Caron Big Cakes, I knew that I could pick a super simple design and this yarn would still shine.

  • 1/2 skein of Caron Big Cakes – a worsted (4) weight yarn (above: Blue Macaron)
  • Size H (5.00 mm) hook

There really isn’t much to this scarf past the very simple corner-to-corner (C2C) technique, but you still end up with a beautiful finished product! I would actually recommend this project as a great way to ease into C2C before tackling a more complex variation. As it stands, this scarf is definitely a TV or Netflix friendly project, if you’re into that sort of thing.

I would recommend taking the time to master C2C though, because there are so many fascinating patterns out there! For example, Make and Do Crew has a list of really awesome afghans made using C2C! These are called “graphgans” because the patterns are charted out on a graph, and then C2C is used to stitch each square of the graph! I actually previously mentioned Make and Do Crew when I blogged about my maple leaf pillow cover, but honestly her C2C tutorials are worth checking out. If there are any other C2C patterns that I need to know about, please let me know! I’m always looking for new projects, and C2C is such a foundational technique.

Until next time, happy crafting!
