#128 – Amigurumi Jellyfish

My mom asked me if I would be interested in donating some items for a silent auction, and I knew I wanted to make some sort of amigurumi. After browsing through Ravelry, I settled on these super cute jellyfish!

  • 1/50 skein Caron Simply Soft — a worsted weight (4) yarn (colour A: Soft Blue)
  • 1/100 skein Caron Cakes — a worsted weight (4) yarn (colour B: Strawberry Trifle)
  • 10g Loops and Threads Classic FiberFill
  • 2 safety eyes (8.00 mm)
  • 3.00 mm hook

Pattern by Claire at Yarn Broom

The only thing I changed was the colours of the tentacles – instead of having all the straight tentacles one colour and the curled tentacles another, I decided to mix and match. I think it just makes everything feel more dynamic and cute!

I also added a loop of yarn at the top to give me something to hang this jellyfish from. Now, he’s free to move and twist as he pleases! Without the loop, it can be hard to photograph these cute little guys, as shown below by the pink jellyfish friend.

This pattern was lovely to work up, and I hope they go to a good home at the silent auction! This is my second time donating something for a silent auction, and that time I made sea creatures as well! It was an octopus, starfish, and crab mini set, so I think there must be something about the ocean that just calls to me.

Until next time, happy crafting!
