I’m always impressed by the detail that goes into some of the crochet dolls out there, and when I found this amigurumi pattern that came with clothing, I knew I had to try it! To seal the deal, the clothes fit a super cute little pig.

The only change I made was to size down my hook, as I wanted the pig to be slightly smaller overall. The pattern was clearly written, and I absolutely loved the end product. Even without the clothes, the pig has such an endearing expression.
I liked how this doll is able to sit and stand. I can imagine a little child playing very happily with these toys, especially if they had various outfits to swap with. I don’t know about you, but I’d take a stuffed amigurumi doll over a Barbie doll any day.
Instead of using buttons or a string tie, I actually tried using Velcro dots to secure the dress this time! If I”m being honest, the original motivation was out of laziness, because I just didn’t want to sew anything else on, but it ended up working beautifully! I haven’t had the chance to see how the Velcro stands up to repeated use, but it’s definitely something that I’ll be trying again in the future for amigurumi toys. I don’t think I would trust it to be sturdy enough for “real” human clothing.
I made this pig as a gift, and I hope that it brings as much joy to the new owner as it brought me as I made it. This ranking changes almost every week, but I’d have to say this pig is close to the top of my list of favourites.
Until next time, happy crafting!
