#26 – Lace Bookmark

When I was younger, I never went anywhere without a book in my hand. Sadly, when I got older, I stopped reading as much. I still love curling up with a good book, but I’m definitely not the bookworm I used to be. In homage to my younger self, I decided to make a bookmark and I’m hoping this will encourage me to make more time to read.

  • 1/64 skein of Premier Yarns Cotton Fair – a fine weight (2) yarn (above: Cream)
  • 2.0 mm hook

Pattern by Olga Poltava at Lacy Crochet

I wasn’t entirely sure what the pattern means when it says to “block and stiffen”, so I turned to Google, my ever present help in times of need. It turns out that to help the bookmark keep its shape, it helps if you treat the lace. One easy way to do it is with white glue! I didn’t have the chance to do this yet, but I think it will definitely help my bookmark since it’s a bit flimsy at the moment. It’s so neat to see all these different aspects to crochet and what finishing a project really entails!
