A handknit sweater is one of my maker goals for 2021, but I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole process. I decided that making a miniature sweater might help me feel more comfortable with the design and assembly of a sweater without having to commit to the full-size version.

#239 – Perler Beads
Like I’ve mentioned previously, I love having the opportunity to craft with children! They’re often much more creative than I could ever be, and it’s so exciting to get a glimpse of how they think. This week, we made a lot of Perler bead creations together.

I love love love receiving anything handwritten. Whether it’s letters, birthday cards, or anything in between, they instantly gain a special spot in my heart. Postcards are even more special because it means that someone was thinking of me, even while they were on vacation, and that feeling is so precious.
I’ve always thought that granny squares are so versatile. I’ve seen the different patterns for granny squares combined into scarves, blankets, and even cardigans! I decided that for this new year, it was time to bring things back to basics.

When I was packing for this trip, my friends kept on teasing me about the amount of yarn I had packed away in my backpack, but I knew that between the plane rides and train trips I would want something to keep me busy.
