#107 – YULETIDE Mittens

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season spent with loved ones! I didn’t quite make most of my deadlines for homemade Christmas gifts, but these quick little mittens did make the cut.

  19. Repeat steps 1 to 26 for the other mitten.

*I chose to work in the back loop rather than the third loop. With the alternating directions, the back loop creates the ridge without turning it into little ‘v’ lines, but each to their own! I find that the back loop gives more height to each row, so you need fewer rows to accomplish the cuff as well.

I was actually asked to make these as part of a Secret Santa exchange that my class did, and seeing the how much my classmate enjoyed this gift was so heart warming!

I will warn that I barely had enough yarn to finish these mittens with one skein, so it might be smart to have some extra handy. This bright red colour was absolutely perfect for the holidays though!

Until next time, happy crafting!
