#101 – Criss-Cross Cowl

I know it’s been over a year, but I’m still not over Caron Cakes and the idea of ombré yarn cakes in general. When Michael’s had a huge yarn sale a few weeks ago, I took advantage and stocked up a bit, and started hunting for good patterns to try. The bold look of this cowl on Ravelry instantly caught my eye!

  • 5/6 skein of Caron Cakes — a worsted (4) weight yarn (above: Strawberry Trifle)
  • Size I (5.50 mm) hook

Pattern by Megan at Left in Knots

I actually didn’t change anything on this pattern, as I loved the look of the criss-cross knots. The bold colour changes of the Caron Cakes really works out well here!

I strongly recommend listening to Megan and blocking this scarf, as I found that it curled quite a bit otherwise. I will confess that I was ignorant and skipped that step, but I’m regretting it now. Life is all about trying new techniques, right?

Until next time, happy crafting!
