#64 – Winnie the Pooh Tsum Tsum

A definite perk of babysitting is getting to play with all their toys, and one of the cutest toys out there are Disney Tsum Tsums! Some of the families that I babysit have quite the collection, and I’ve always had the itch to start my own collection. Since one of my favourite stories growing up were the Winnie-the-Pooh stories, it was a no-brainer for what I wanted my first Tsum Tsum to be. My best friend suggested that I try make a crochet version, and I figured I’d give it a try!

  • 1/30 skein of Red Heart Soft – a worsted weight (4) yarn (above colour B: Really Red)
  • 30g Loops and Threads Classic Fiber Fill
  • 2 safety eyes (7.5 mm)

Here is my crocheted Winnie-the-Pooh Tsum Tsum with his Disney store friend! Don’t they look so happy together? Friendship is such a beautiful thing, and as always, I’m so thankful for my friends who inspire me to create and push me to try new things.

As a side note, as much as I love going to Michael’s for yarn shopping expeditions, I want to warn you against buying any Tsum Tsum’s from there! Michael’s prices their Tsum Tsums at $12, so even with a 50% off coupon, it is barely less than the Disney Store price of $6.95! What’s more, the Disney Store occasionally has sales on selected Tsum Tsums for $2.99! In good conscience, I just had to warn you.

Of course, the alternative to buying is making your own! Please let me know if you try making your own crochet Tsum Tsum – the pattern could easily be modified with different colours and patterns to make lots of different characters. What’s your favourite Disney character?

Until next time, happy crafting!
