#38 – Fried Egg

My friend is moving to Calgary, and I wanted to make her a good-bye present before she left. It turns out that she really likes eggs, so I decided to try my hand at making a fried egg!

  • 1/64 skein of Caron Simply Soft – a worsted weight (4) yarn (above colour A: Sunshine)
  • 1/64 skein of Caron Simply Soft – a worsted weight (4) yarn (above colour B: Off White)
  • 5g Loops and Threads Classic Fibre Fill
  • Size G (4.25 mm) hook

 Pattern by tick-tock hobbies

  1. In Colour A, use the magic circle to start out with six SC. (6 stitches)
  2. Do two SC in each stitch. (12 stitches)
  3. *Do two SC in one stitch. SC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the circle. (18 stitches)
  4. SC in each stitch. Cast off and weave ends in. (18 stitches)
  5. In Colour B, repeat steps 1 – 3.
  6. With the wrong sides facing, do a SC in each stitch while holding the yellow and white pieces together. With one stitch left, flip the circle inside out and stuff it.
  7. SC in each of the white posts visible around the circle. (18 stitches)
  8. *Do two SC in one stitch. One SC in each of the next two stitches.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the circle. (24 stitches)
  9. *Do two SC in one stitch. One SC in each of the next three stitches.* Repeat from * to * until the end of the circle. (30 stitches)
  10. Do two SC in the first stitch. One SC in each of the next nine stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next seven stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next eleven stitches. (33 stitches)
  11. Do two SC in the first stitch. One SC in each of the next ten stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next eight stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next twelve stitches. (36 stitches)
  12. Do two SC in the first stitch. One SC in each of the next eleven stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next nine stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next thirteen stitches. (39 stitches)
  13. Do two SC in the first stitch. One SC in each of the next twelve stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next ten stitches. Do two SC in the next stitch. One SC in each of the next fourteen stitches. Cast off and weave ends in. (42 stitches)

My favourite pattern that I found online was actually in Japanese, so I decided that I would have to make my own!
