Confession: I’m a sucker for personalization. I love the idea of being able to customize things to reflect your own story and so things like Pandora really appeal to me. However, sometimes I find the standard Pandora bracelet a bit much to wear with a casual outfit, especially if I’m already wearing a watch and the charms keep clinking against the watch face. Therefore, I like to get creative with the charms so that I can add my own twist!

• 6 strands of embroidery floss at 60 inches each (Colours: Light Gray, Light Blue, White)
• 1 Pandora style charm
• Super-Glue

Pattern by tick-tock hobbies

1. Create any six-stranded friendship bracelet*
2. Slide the Pandora-style charm onto the bracelet
3. Tie the ends together**
4. Wrap the loose ends around the knot and around the bracelet to create a small bump that the charm can fit snugly over
5. Super-Glue the loose ends down and trim any excess embroidery floss
6. Slide the charm onto the small bump when the glue has dried

*I suggest checking out this site for patterns – you can even narrow their search function to only include six-stranded results! I chose to make a simple chevron pattern with a border, so I didn’t use a pattern, I just based it off previous experience. However, I’m sure such a pattern exists on the site. I think that six-strand patterns are the perfect width for the charm as eight-strand patterns may be too wide and four-strand patterns too thin.

**Before tying, make sure this bracelet is long enough so that it can slide over your hand once completed as there are no clasps to it.

My favourite thing about this bracelet is that it hides the knot at the end. I think in any craft, I always dislike the process of finishing because I can never make it look good. This way, I cheat a little bit and hide it behind something beautiful!

Confession #2: This particular turtle is not an authentic Pandora charm. He was actually brought back as a gift for me from Mexico! As much as I love Pandora and have a bracelet with authentic charms, I do wish they had more variety in their types of charms. They have a turtle charm, but I’m not really into the super glittery version. The main reason that I suggest Pandora-style charms is that they have a big enough hole to fit snugly over a knot, which is what we want here. It doesn’t have to be branded at all! The most important thing to do is to pick a charm that speaks to you.
