Since I live in Edmonton, it’s always a good idea to have a couple of extra toques handy during the winter, and when I saw how simple this pattern was, I couldn’t resist grabbing the yarn to try it out.
- 1/2 skein of Caron Simply Soft – a worsted weight (4) yarn (above: Soft Green)
- Size H (5.0 mm) hook
The only modification that I made to this pattern was starting with a Magic Circle rather than forming the ring with the initial slip stitches. I find it works a little better to get a tighter look at the top of the beanie.
This beanie actually ended up being donated as part of a clothing drive done by my church, so I didn’t get to keep it, but it’s gone to a much better home! I did get to model it briefly though, as seen below.
