#2 – “Wings” Friendship Bracelet

I learned how to make my first friendship bracelet when I was 12 or so. Of course, it wasn’t half as fancy as this one – just a simple diagonal pattern was about all I could handle. Still, the nice thing about friendship bracelets is that once you learn the two knots, you can make anything!

  • 13 strands of embroidery floss at 60 inches each (half-thickness of normal embroidery floss) (Colour: Black)
  • 11 strands of embroidery floss at 60 inches each (half-thickness of normal embroidery floss) (Colour: White)

The only alternation I made to this pattern was to put each strand at half-thickness in order to cut down on the bulkiness of the pattern. Since it’s already so wide, I figured it could use all the help it could get.

This website is basically my secret weapon for friendship bracelets – it has great pictures for tutorials and clear patterns. I don’t think I could do better, so I didn’t feel the need to write my own tutorial. Check the site out! It’s great.
